Power & Free system used for valves at Leser GmbH & Co. KG
Leser is the market leader for safety valves in Germany and Europe. The company, which was founded in 1818, has sites in Hamburg and Hohenwestedt and employs 270 people.
Investments in research and development, but also in logistics are important for triggering new developments at LESER and in the branch as a whole.
The Requirements
Avoiding the necessity of manual transport between assembly, paint workshop and despatch was the target set for the newly-built finishing section. The disadvantages of the existing continuous circular conveyor in the paint shop/drying area were to be eliminated.
The Solution
The ideal solution found for the task at hand is an automatic “Power & Free” system connected to the automatic transport in the storage and assembly areas.This guarantees conveyance with zero line-pressure from paint and drying areas to despatch. By mounting the conveyor system to the ceiling freedom of movement on the floor is guaranteed.
A turning device and special trolleys for the transport were developed to accommodate the need to turn the valves during the painting process.
The valves are transported after a holding time through the drying area to the ergonomically designed despatch area.
